Tre Azam

Biography

"Forthright, outspoken and a bit of a maverick" - all words that can be used to describe Tre Azam when he is performing against competition and certainly true of the first impression he made on the public when he took part in BBC1’s The Apprentice in 2007. Combining determination and a no-nonsense attitude with a fantastic sense of humour, Tre is a great advertisement for the next generation of business people...

Growing up in Hackney, London, Tre started work at the age of ten building PCs in his father's factory. In his teens, he was teaching groups of men three times his age about the technology.

After a horrific car accident, he spent over a year in hospital, wheelchair-bound and dealing with pessimistic predictions about his future. Despite what he was told, Tre made a full recovery and immediately threw himself back into business in America where he set up and ran the US arm of the business bringing in over a million pounds of business in the first year.

His time with his family business gave him the ability to learn at a fast pace, sell and think on his feet. He was fortunate to learn many lessons the hard way through business and in Dec 2003 he left the family business and decided to start on his own. Before starting his consultancy business, Tre started and sold a few small businesses to keep him going and build up his experience of business as well as studying every great theory and text on marketing, business, branding and design.

In 2004 he decided to start his own consultancy, in 2006 he made it a successful reality with IDMM - Ideas, Design, Marketing & Management. He worked primarily as a marketing and brand consultant through the company providing his clients with an average return of 800-1000%. Tre continued his passion for business and entrepreneurial endeavours by starting a running several companies since.

In 2007, he was a very memorable participant in BBC1’s high profile series The Apprentice. As the weeks went by, viewers witnessed Tre's strong work ethic, commitment and, at times, brutal honesty and he soon became one of the show's most entertaining contestants…Earlier this year, Tre joined London’s commercial talk radio station LBC 97.3 to host his own Saturday lunchtime phone-in show, where he’s attracted an equally outspoken and passionate audience
